The non-circular grooving soulful Jazz tune NAIROBI is my favorite on this first MOMBASA album. If you also had the chance to ride with the notorious “Lunatic Express” from Nairobi to Mombasa at the Indian Ocean coast Kenya, this tune probably was the perfect soundtrack while you are watching out of the window where zebra, elephant, giraffe and other animals doing there wildlife thing … Hakuna Matata!

Debut album on the German Spiegelei label of the formation MOMBASA around Lou Blackburn, recorded 1975 at CORNET studio in Cologne. Finest Afro-Funk, groovy Afro-Jazz with heavy bass lines and strong percussion. Also provides some nice breaks, beats and samples.
Musicians: Gerald Luciano, Donald Coleman, Lou Blackburn, Cephus McGirt, Charles Jefferson.
