Guru Guru Sunband – Hey Du (1979)

BRAIN – 0060.187, GERMANY, 1979

Original first release BRAIN – 0060.187. Solid EXCELLENT condition. Super clean vinyl with some ultra-light signs of use and age. 95% is in absolute mint condition. Sounds great. The cover is slightly wavy, with light edge wear and other signs of age. The cover image is generic and has nothing to do with the actual offering.

Guru Guru Sunband
Hey Du

Brain ‎– 0060.187

Guru Guru – a big name in the Krautrock scene far beyond Germany. Formed in 1968 as „The Guru Guru Groove“. The band founders Mani Neumeier (drums) and Uli Trepte (bass) originally come from the free jazz (The Irene Schweizer Trio) environment of the sixties.

In 1978 Guru Guru once again changed the line-up and in order to communicate the also musical change, the group was given the name Guru Guru Sun Band. And this stands for a unique mixture of Deutschrock, Afro, Latin, Brazil, Disco and Jazz mostly with inserts of strong Percussion. Sunny sounds, towering for sure the stunning Fusion tune TAOMA but there are plenty of great tunes in different musical directions on this album.
