A great album full of the finest Italian pop. Just really wonderful music, recorded in Milan in 1990. At that time Manrico Mologni and Nicola Calgari have been working together for some time. In artistic harmony they decide to form a duo and start the production of their own album. Nine songs are identified, arranged, and recorded, but in the last phase of the work a misfortune happens that makes the duo, the project and the album disappear into the drawer: Manrico is ill, and seriously.

Over this shock everything falls into oblivion. Until, after more than 30 years, an old cassette accidentally falls into Manrico’s hands, containing some of the still wonderful songs. The memory resurfaces and with it the desire to release the album. It will not be easy to dub the old DAT tapes, but a friend Massimo Parretti still has the necessary equipment in his post-production studio and …. everything works, the sound unfolds intact as before.

Finally the album is finished, with some additions where the mixdowns were missing, and it is enhanced by two delicious extended Balearic versions of Ed Longo (Edoardo Calgari), son of Nicola Calgari.

Sometimes the great things take longer. In this case, it was 30 years. But now LE PIANTE DEL LAGO is finally available. Released in high quality on vinyl by the Italian label Archeo Recordings. It is limited to 300 copies, hand-numbered and comes in a beautifully designed cover with the original artwork by Filippo Sala.
