Wonderful big band recording from the late 1960s full of bossa nova, swing and jazz melodies carried by the sweet vocals of singer Gitte Hænning-Johansson. Originally from Denmark and has also been a household name in the German beat music scene since the early 1960s. Surprisingly, she recorded this album with the Kenny Clarke-Francy Boland Big Band. It was her long dream to produce a jazz album and with MY KIND OF WORLD she proves that she is more than just a pop star, a great jazz singer. Gitte’s fantastic vocals are supported by some of the most talented European jazz musicians such as Åke Persson, Benny Bailey, Dusko Goykovich, Jimmy Woode, Sahib Shihab and Sal Nistico.
